We caught up with Emily to discuss fashion, lockdown and everything in between.

What’s one surprising thing about being an influencer that no one knows about?
I don’t think people know the amount of work that goes into it. Don’t get me wrong it’s so worth it. I absolutely love it and I’m so lucky that I get to do something I enjoy every day but it’s a lot more work than people think. I shoot content almost everyday and when I have time I also try to reply to people’s Messages, edit videos etc...

Which Instagram account are you loving right now?
There’s so many accounts I love it’s so hard to pin point one tbh. I follow so many amazing stylish girls and each of them give me inspo in different ways.

Who is one influencer that you look up to? Is there anyone who inspires your style/content?
In terms of style I take inspo from loads of influencers and celebrities. Some days I like to dress really feminine and chic and the next day I’ll be kicking about in oversized jumpers and doc martens. I adore Hayley bieber and Gigi Hadids street style. It’s so stylish but super relaxed and understated.

How did you guys meet?
We had a mutual friend on Twitter, so we started following each other back in 2013. It wasn’t until 2017 that we really started talking. We went to a festival named WooHah and Noor stayed over at my place. We’ve been best friends since.

What is the best memory?
We don’t really have one specific memory, but more the things we do when we’re together. We can literally talk about everything, from our favourite lingerie to the purpose of life.

What do you like the most about each other?
Noor: Wherever we are or whoever we meet, Joann’s always the happiest person in the room and kind to literally everyone. She just lights up the room. Joann: The thing I love most about Noor is that she’s always 100% passionate about the things/ people she cares about. She’ll do everything for you, or the cause she cares about.

I would say my favourite thing about being an SA is the opportunities you get given to expand your platform & you get to meet lots of amazing people (the team and other SAs).

The highlight of this experience has to be how all the Boohoo Queens have come together by supporting each other and we have really created a sense of community. Being a Boohoo BA has opened up new doors for me, such as being contacted by the ITV producers to audition for Love Island twice.

The amazing events and walking around campus wearing boohoo and someone coming up to me saying they love my outfit and asking me where it is from (boohoo of course)
German & Accounting
My Instagram grew from 7.9k to 15k in one just because of my contract with boohoo! Obviously a lot of other things but it was a major stepping stone in my influencer career and made me more attractive to brands! I also gained an amazing group of supportive friends that I know I’ll have for life!

Best thing about being a boohoo SA was getting to meet so many nice girls online and at the days/nights out (and getting unreal outfits ofc)
Chemistry
I genuinely never expected being picked for this programme and it’s made me realise potential I never thought I had. It also really boost my confidence in myself and the abilities I have. I loved being about to make content for such an amazing brand.
